8 Things Sellers Should Know Before Selling a Home
Updated: Jan 29, 2022

Selling your home may sound like an easy thing to do, but most don't realize just how much goes into the home selling process.
Here are 8 Things sellers should know before selling a home:
1. Hire Your Own Real Estate Agent!
A quality agent will always look out for your best interest.
2. Make sure the price is right.
Your home listing must be priced just right based on homes that have been SOLD in YOUR neighborhood.
3. Be realistic.
Be ready to accept a lower offer if you are selling your home AS IS.
4. Know the value of your home.
Sellers lose money when they DO NOT know the value of their home.
5. Keep all of your equity.
Television real estate companies and investors WILL TAKE most of your equity.
6. Get your money's worth.
Just because your home needs work does not mean you should give it away for pennies.
7. Don't settle for less.
$50,000 cash Is a bad deal, if you should be getting $75,000 or $100,000.
8. Be weary of low-baller investors.
Some investors will take advantage of your inexperience and desperation when they offer cash for your home. If an investor comes into your pointing out everything little thing that is wrong, this is a tactic to offer you the lowest price possible. Sadly most inexperience home sellers fall for the trick every time.
